Going to a new hotel? Check here first! Posted August 31, 2010 by Charli McKenzie

Are you going to a new hotel or resort that you've never been to? This website is awesome..it shows you what the REAL deal is...

Oyster visits hotels undercover and takes hundreds of photos of each hotel so our members can see the truth before they book. When we compare the photos we take to the ones used for marketing on other travel sites, the results can be quite funny.

Our goal is to guide our users to the hotels that will best fit their needs. We do this by extensively photographing every place we visit and writing in-depth reviews based on our firsthand experiences.

New images of the Titanic Posted August 31, 2010 by Charli McKenzie

New Images of the Titanic...Yep, the movie "Titanic" made me get into the  actual Titanci and now Im obsessed!! Click out these new images, Charli

A new expedition at the site of the Titanic has caught some new, crisp pictures of the world's most famous shipwreck.

The team of scientists has been using a pair of robots to take thousands of pictures and hours of video of the wreck. The Titanic sits about 2.5 miles below the ocean in Newfoundland.

The hi-resolution pics include shots of the ship's bow, which clearly shows the railing and anchors.

Titanic hit an iceberg in 1912 before sinking. More than 1,500 passengers and crew died.

Officials from Expedition Titanic are now headed back to shore because high seas and winds are keeping researchers from doing their work.

('GET SOME'... WITH THE FISHES)... THE ULTIMATE NEWLYWEDS SUITE, UNDER WATER

The Conrad Maldives Rangali Islands resort, off the coast of India, is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience - for the lucky couples who can afford it: an underwater suite.

The 'Ithaa' suite is being offered as a honeymoon suite to mark the hotel's fifth anniversary.

And it comes with a night below the surface of the Indian Ocean (followed by a complimentary champagne breakfast the following morning.)

Of course the aquatic entertainment - provided by the likes of blue-striped snapper, sting rays, parrot fish and moray eels - is also (quite literally) on the house.

The hotel is keeping a 'price on application' policy - the Ithaa wedding experience is not listed on the Conrad hotels website, and potential guests are advised to personally request the room at least 14 days in advance.

(How much? No price was given. But a King Deluxe Water Villa is $1,500 a night... and it's above water.)

Should your pet sleep w. you? Posted August 30, 2010 by Charli McKenzie

I have such a loyal, sweet dog-Teddy..BUT he really fights us on who is the owner and who is the pet. I get a little frusterated cause at times Teddy listens to NO ONE in our household but himself..He sleeps with us everynight and for only weighing 13lbs, he hogs the bed..is this a problem? This article was pretty interesting!!

 The Cons
From health reasons to relationships concerns, there are strong arguments against sharing the bed.

1. It can intensify allergies. Your airways are more susceptible to irritants at night, partly because when you're lying down, you're closer to the ground, where particles settle. Multiply that by plus or minus 8 hours and that's a lot of exposure, says Frank S. Virant, MD, an allergy and asthma specialist in Seattle. Plus, pet dander and fur stays on the pillow long after the animal has left the room. If you find yourself sniffling or wheezing, the pet should leave the bedroom, Virant tells Paw Nation.

2. It can amp up human/canine power struggles. Orlando dog trainer Todd Langston, owner of Pack Life K-9 Behavior Solutions believes that giving the dog the highest, most comfortable spot in the house sends the message that he is the leader of the pack. "Many of these dogs will even growl at their owners if they wake them in the middle of the night or snap at them if they try to get them off the bed," says Langston.

3. Noisy or pushy dogs can keep you from getting a good night's rest. In a 2001 study by the Mayo Clinic, more than half of pet owners seeking treatment for sleep disorders said their pets disturbed their sleep every night because of snoring, needing to go outside or hogging the bed.

4. It can cause arguments between couples. "I can tell you stories about fighting with a German Shepherd for room on my ex-boyfriend's full-size bed," says Christie Hyde, a public relations professional from Daytona Beach. "Apparently I was expected to sleep curled in a ball at the top of the bed."

NASA Wake Up Call Posted August 23, 2010 by Charli McKenzie

Only two space shuttle flights are left. That means there are only a few chances to choose music for the astronauts' wake-up calls. Normally, that music is selected by family and friends of the astronauts. But, for the end of the shuttle program, NASA is throwing it open to the public. You can vote on any one of NASA's top 40. Those are NASA favorites that were used to wake up astronauts. They include tunes from Willie Nelson, Aaron Tippin, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett. There's another angle to this. NASA is accepting original songs. They'll be voted on, too.

STAR MAG MAKING TROUBLE FOR KENNY C?

Star mag claims to have photos of Kenny Chesney enjoying 'a steamy Mexican getaway' with ESPN sportscaster Jenn Brown.

The tabloid claims to have photos of them on the beach together, including one in which she slides her hands under his shirt and around his waist and another in which she strikes sexy poses for him.

And sources claim Kenny's girlfriend of two years, Amy, was livid when she found out the trip. I would've been ticked too..taking a friggin vacation and not knowing..Why wasn't she on vacation w. him....

True Blood Rolling Stone Cover..too far? Posted August 18, 2010 by Charli McKenzie

Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer from 'True Blood' are bloody naked on the cover of the new Rolling Stone.

They are nude, and dripping with blood.

And along with the violence? Plenty of sex.

Show creator Alan Ball tells the magazine, "To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed.

I think it's creative, but I am glad it's not sold at the check outline at my grocery store
